Beyond the Story: Discover What’s Within You
Every Bright Light Press story has something special waiting beneath the surface.
Our Beyond the Story activities invite children to slow down, think about what they’ve experienced, explore what they’re feeling, and discover what they can learn about themselves.
Through simple questions and creative exercises, children are encouraged to explore five layers of discovery:
- Notice – What happened? What did you observe?
- Feel – What emotions did you experience? What did you notice in your body?
- Explore – What do you believe? Could there be another way to look at things?
- Discover – What does this tell you about the kind of person you want to be?
- Imagine & Act – What could you do next? What possibilities can you create?
These activities help turn meaningful stories into meaningful discoveries that children can carry with them long after the story ends.
